A space for good coffee, good people, and real community.
10 Years in the making!
Black Sheep Coffee Roasters opened its doors in 2015 with a simple goal: create a space for good coffee, good people, and real community. Ten years later, we’re proud to say that Black Sheep is no longer just a café—it’s a team, a family, and a reflection of the people who’ve helped shape it.
Over the years, we’ve grown from a small café in downtown Welland to a full-fledged roastery and second location on a 100-acre farm in Fenwick. What hasn’t changed is our commitment to doing things right: thoughtful service, honest ingredients, and a genuine love for the craft.
Behind the scenes is a tight-knit team that makes all of this possible. Melissa, Paige, David, Carrie, Kate, Cass and Waylon are the heartbeat of both shops. They bring the same level of care and energy to your coffee as they do to each other—lifting us up, supporting wild ideas, and helping shape what Black Sheep has become.
We’re also a family business in every sense of the word—Lucas and Katie run the show alongside their two little ones, Mac and Leo. But the real magic comes from the collective: our crew, our customers, and the wider community that’s rallied behind us for a decade.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we’re doubling down—investing in better tools, better training, and better experiences across the board. We’re proud of where we’ve come from and excited about where we’re going.
Thanks for being part of it.
